"Package Pursuit" - GPW Game

Package Pursuit was made in a professional environment made to emulate the a complete industry game development cycle. The game was build from the 'ground up' by a 28-man team. We [the programmers on the team] convinced the designers and producer to tackle making our own engine instead of doing 'the norm' - making an Unreal Tournament mod. The resulting product met all major milestones, suffered very few content cuts, and ended up being a fun, fully playable, multiplayer network game.

I personally worked on the animation and gameplay elements of the game, as well as tools for artists to get their animations working with our engine. I developed our 'skin and bones' animation player for the characters in the game that imported models with animation sets from FBX files and a proprietary format I designed that contained additional info from the artists. This allowed for maximum flexibility between the animators and the programmers in charge of gameplay.

The project was a great experience and I learned not only a lot about time-management and working with people from other specialties, but gained a great deal of insight into my teammates' fields and how important it is to work closely with all members of the team.
